Imagineer’s Toolkit
The Imagineer's Toolkit is a hand-held device intended for use by curious members of the public in the Magic Kingdom, Disneyworld. An accompanying guide map of 'notspots' takes the visitor on an alternative route within the park.
The device holds a number of tools which when calibrated against the streetscape reveal the various building codes used by Disney's architects - the Imagineer's - to create various illusions of fantasy. Discover the depths of the Utilidors beneath your feet; check the squashed proportions of the windows above ground level on Main Street; or point out the vast expanses of show buildings and sheds painted to blend in with the sky.
Its appearance is friendly, bright, plastic and colourful, designed and packaged to blend in with the hundreds of mass-produced toys found on shelves lining the gift shops on Main Street.
